Career Genesis
A frog in a well looks up at the sky and says, “I know the entire universe. It’s a small puddle, surrounded by slimy walls, with a blue disk in the middle.”(Japanese proverb)
Maybe it is time, like the frog, to change how you view life, and make yours what you want. The difference between successful living and struggling is far more simple that you may imagine.
I am paid by a corporation to teach communication, both written and oral. As an example, over the past 3 months I have trained over 90 people. They learned the four elements for getting hired:
- Effective networking and searching
- Developing a professional message that resonates.
- Targeted resumes and cover letters
- Interview preparation and practice
All these people were hired within 2 weeks, by using the resumes they received with the cover letters and engaging the interviewing skills to secure each position.
Have you defined why previous efforts haven’t worked? Could they be…
- You can’t seem to identify a hiring manager or position you may need to network more effectively.
- You have sent more than 20 resumes without a response. You may need to better focus your search.
- If you have gone on 4-6 interviews and not received an offer, you may want to become more effective.
All you need to do is answer a single question…”What can I do to improve my success?”
